Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Video Saver uses information to save videos, provide Pro access and respond to optional issue reports.

Video downloads

Video Saver uses the current page address and title, video addresses, name and available qualities, the selected video, and download progress and error information to find and save the video you choose.

Videos are processed on your device and requested from the websites supplying them. Your videos, page addresses and download logs are not automatically uploaded to Video Saver or its payment provider. There is no advertising or usage analytics.

Information on your device

Download progress and troubleshooting logs stay on your device and are removed when the related tab closes or Chrome restarts. The number and time of successful downloads are stored to manage your free allowance.

If you activate Pro, a private licence credential, a random identifier for this browser installation, plan, activation status, expiry and last verification time are stored on your device. You do not need to enter a licence key. Allowance and licence information remain until you clear the extension data or uninstall it; deactivation removes the local licence information. Saved video files remain in your chosen download location.

Pro purchases and activation

Stripe Managed Payments and Link handle checkout, payment details and billing under their own privacy policies. The extension does not receive your card details.

When you choose Activate in this browser on your private confirmation page, Video Saver sends the purchase reference and installation identifier to its service hosted on Cloudflare to confirm your access. Later checks and deactivation use a private licence credential. We retain a protected record of the credential, purchase and customer identifiers, plan, status, expiry and activation records for the life of the licence. These records provide purchased access, manage the three-installation limit and support your licence. Our licensing database does not store your name or email address. Browsing information and downloaded videos are not sent to the payment provider. Your activation link can grant access to your purchase: keep it private and save it for your other browsers.

Optional issue reports

Only clicking Send report sends a report to Video Saver. Opening the form or encountering an error sends nothing. There are no automatic error uploads.

A report includes your selected issue, any explanation, the full current page address (including any extra information in that address), page and video titles, browser and extension versions, selected quality, download progress, errors and relevant troubleshooting logs. Licence keys and credentials are removed from logs, and video files are not included. Avoid including sensitive information in your explanation.

Reports are stored privately on Cloudflare, reviewed by the developer only for troubleshooting and improving Video Saver, and deleted after 90 days through daily cleanup. They are not published or sent to the payment provider. Provider backups follow the provider's retention policy.

Unsent drafts stay on your device until Chrome closes. Drafts expire after 24 hours and are removed when reporting is next opened. Successful submission removes the draft's download information.

Security and service providers

Reports and licence information are sent over secure connections. To prevent abuse, our service uses short-lived identifiers derived from IP addresses rather than storing raw IP addresses in its own records. Licensing identifiers expire after two minutes; report identifiers expire after their hourly window and are removed by daily cleanup. Hosting and payment providers may process IP addresses and connection information under their own policies.

Your choices

You choose whether to download, purchase Pro or submit a report. You can cancel downloads and deactivate Pro for the current browser. Deactivate before uninstalling if you want to free an installation for another browser. Uninstalling removes local extension data, but does not cancel an annual subscription or delete server-side records. Manage subscriptions through Link.

Limited use

Video Saver uses information only to provide and support its video-saving features, manage Pro access and prevent abuse. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or unrelated purposes.
